US inspectors pinpoint Hyundai Sonata steering

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the US believes there may be faults in the steering of the Hyundai Sonata 2011 model.
The investigation is being based around two incidents which were reported by Hyundai itself.
In one case, a universal joint that helps connect the steering wheel to the front wheels supposedly came loose, while a defective bolt came adrift in the other example.
There were no crashes or injuries in either case, with both vehicles returned to their owners after repairs by Hyundai.
A preliminary investigation has now been launched into the matter.
The 2011 Sonata which is sold in the US as produced at the automaker’s Montgomery, Alabama factory.
