Former Opel boss Hans Demant is going to move to Volkswagen.

Last week the former Opel boss resigned from General Motors Co, saying he wished to pursue other professional opportunities.

According to sources Mr Demant will go Volkswagen to take charge of international project coordination.

When he arrives in early October, he will report to VW CEO Martin Winterkorn.

Winterkorn has already released a statement to say the firm has been "fortunate in being able to recruit such an experienced colleague as Hans Demant."
