Toyota's president is due to brief the Japanese government on the Prius recall.

Toyota Motor Corp has already signaled it will recall over 200,000 hybrid units in Japan beginning on February 10th.

The recall will include two other hybrid models: the Lexus HS250h and the Sai, which is sold only in Japan.

But of 223,068 vehicles to be recalled, most of them are Priuses.

President Akio Toyoda is due to brief Japan's Transport Ministry on the recall, in talks which will also touch on the 100,000 Prius units driven in the US.

Apart from the Prius model, Toyota has said it will also suspend domestic production of the Sai and Lexus HS250h hybrids at the end of the week.

The hybrid models, including Prius, are to be recalled for faulty brakes.

Japanese Government calls on Toyota chief for explanation

A couple of my friends drive toyotas and they are very confused about the recalls. Some are saying that the metal piece to fix the gas pedal problem is a quick fix to the problem. Why did it take two (2) years for Toyota to admit that was a problem and to put a hault to production of these vehicles until the problem was fixed. Sad day for Toyota owners and a perplexing situation for Toyota Motors.

    TOYOTA MOTOR THAILAND

I am surprised why no govt agency nor media in Thailand is ready to scrutinize Toyota Motor and their services given to the customers in Thailand. If you search in the yahoo or google you will find thousands of people having problems with them and all says the same thing that TOYOTA REFUSED TO ACCEPT THAT THE PROBLEMS EXISTS. But inspite of that they refuse to accept. There are confirmed report which I saw in the complain.com that TOYOUTA MOTOR THAILAND has already been sued by one of the users. Let’s hope he will get the fair treatment fromt the authority concerned. Somchai
