Paris Hilton was charged by Las Vegas police on the weekend, after they allegedly found cocaine in a purse which was in her possession.
According to police, Hilton denied Cocaine was hers, even though it allegedly fell out of the purse she was carrying.
The felony charge against Paris Hilton will see her being arraigned October 27th in Clark County District Court, Las Vegas.
The hotel heiress, 29, was driving with a friend late Friday when police pulled up the car in which she was the passenger.
They explained they had become suspicious that marijuana was being smoked after detecting a strong odor from the vehicle.
The driver, identified as Cy Waits, 34, was also arrested for driving under the influence after he allegedly failed sobriety tests.
Waits is a Las Vegas nightclub mogul and Hilton’s rumored boyfriend.
When police told Hilton to get out of the car so they could search for drugs, people started to gather and take pictures.
After asking to go somewhere private so she could escape the crowds, she was taken into a nearby hotel and was observed fumbling inside her purse.
The police report has alleged a bundle of what looked like cocaine in a plastic bag fell from the purse, with one of the policemen actually catching it as it dropped.
Ms Hilton told police the purse was not hers, and that she had borrowed it from a friend.
Police have said a broken tablet of Albuterol, a medication used for bronchial ease, was also found inside the purse, along with a packet of Zig Zag cigarette rolling papers and $1,300 cash and credit cards, which she said belonged to her.
Hilton was released from jail Saturday morning.
