David Beckham's sister living on state hand-outs

    (IANS)

Ace footballer and fashion icon David Beckham's elder sister is living on 164 pounds per week state hand-outs in Britain.

She started claiming benefits after splitting from her husband, Colin Every, and starting a fresh relationship with a man she met on a social networking site, Daily Express reported Monday.

Lynne Beckham, 37, is a mother of three children. She stays in a 250,000 pounds house in Romford, Essex, that was bought by multi-millionaire David Beckham.

In 1998, David and Lynne's relationship became strained. David attended her wedding a year later, but his wife Victoria snubbed the couple and refused to go.

'David has provided for Lynne over the years when need be because she is his sister, but he has not been asked for any money. David will always be there for her,' a source was quoted as saying.

In a previous interview David Beckham had said: 'The only thing my dad said to me was, 'Look after your two sisters' - and I always will.'
