Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie is reportedly in talks with director Darren Aronofsky to star in a movie adaptation of Ron Rash's book 'Serena: A Novel' .

The book tells the story of a man named George Pemberton and his wife Serena, who create a timber business in North Carolina in 1929, reported contactmusic.com. Serena, however, succumbs to murderous intentions when she discovers she cannot have children and sets out to kill her husband's illegitimate son.

Jolie is currently filming 'The Tourist' in Venice with Jonny Depp and has no big roles lined up afterwards.
