Two Thai soldiers have been hurt in grenade attacks.
The grenades were thrown onto a Bangkok military base from someone outside the compound.
The male soldiers, aged 23 and 49, where admitted to Bangkok's army-run King Mongkut hospital, where their condition was described as stable.
Military officials on the base said they thought the grenades had been shot from a car driving past.
At the time of the attack, thousands of people had been milling outside another army base across the city in a mass protest against the government.
Crowds of red-shirted protesters have been forming picket lines in front of the 11th infantry army barracks on Bangkok's northern outskirts, from where the government operates, to press their demand that current Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva call snap polls.

The Communist Red-Shirts are going nasty again.Oh, the Communist Red-Shirts are going nasty again. Last time the Red-Shirts had instigated the assassination to gun down the Yellow-shirted leader; now the spearhead is targeting on the Thai soldiers. However, it is too earlier to tell that whether the Thai Communist Red-Shirts are going to copycat the Filipino Communist militia ? Or the Maoists ? So far no sign to find the Southern Thai Muslim population want to join the Thai Communist Red-Shirts, because the Thai-Muslim could suffered most if the Malaysia’s military and authority stop them in the South first before they expand. So far what the Communist Red-Shirts doing is similar to '60s Hong Kong riot by the left-wing Labour-unions, made some home-made bombs to blast on streets to threat the residents. Too worry is the MOST-WANTED Thaksin Shinawatra pays money to buy a Cambodian troops for his ambition to terrorize Bangkok, that’s Thaksin’s last fightback while his political future is at the dead-end corner; of course Thaksin wants to find an “U” turn out. |

Many Thai look down on their cambodian neighbours, but if it wasnt for the khmers letting the thais living amongst them. The siam wouldve still be pirates. They should be thankful. Now Karma has it to their country.
The country doesnt give a crap about the poor..I do hope Thaksin regains power. So south east asia will become peaceful once again. |

Crushed themThe Thai military must act like what China has done at Tiananmen Square. Crush those who defy orders. The red shirts are getting bolder and bolder if nothing being done to stop them. Those are Thaksin bastard supporters. Never let Thaksin back to Thailand. He is a sinner that might destroy Thailand. |

Both RED and Yellow are NO Good for ThailandThe people of Thailand must be given Freedom and democrazy; what the RED do in the protests are Correct (if NON violent)..to try bring back Democrazy and their own Rights! But after winning; its thaksin’s closed or relatives or related more in the Parliament; so its NOT democratic as well; that was WHY they Yellow protest earlier....and brought about a Change of Government! the Best solution is ???? |

Western Media CoverageHere in the US we aren’t getting the story of the communist influence in the Red Shirt movement. Our leftist media is ignoring the facts. Wearing Red, rural and urban poor, rioting, it sure sounds like a communist revolt. |
